About NDU

The National Defence University (NDU), previously presented as Armed force War Course (1963-70),[a] the National Guard School (1970-2007), is the tactical university with extra status of state funded college of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan zeroed in on military training and preparing for the military, including Pakistan military powers and 200 unfamiliar participants.
In 2007, NDC was moved up to University level and War School was granted the situation with Military Conflict School inside the University. As of now, the School capabilities as a part of National Protection University, as the university stands contracted since Walk 2007.

In February 2009, the choice was taken in a meeting of Joint Heads of Staff Panel to consolidate War Course and National Protection Course into one coordinated course, re-assigned as 'National Security and War Course'. The course comprises of two terms: National Security (NS) Term and Military Technique (MS) Term.

The primary Armed force War Course, involving twelve members (counting one each from Naval force and Flying corps) initiated on first May 1963 under the support of Armed force Staff School Quetta. In 1965, the strength of the course was raised to 16.

Attributable to Pak-India battle of 1965, there was no course in 1966. Understanding the requirement for a different organization, National Defence School (NDC) was laid out at Lalkurti Rawalpindi on 28th May 1970, in the old National Get together Structure, known as Ayub Corridor. Later on, a long-lasting structure of NDC was fabricated, where the School stayed situated for next 25 years. Significant General Abdul Hamid Khan, SQA, was the principal Commandant of NDC, while, Brigadier Muhammad Ahmed, SJ, was the Main Teacher (War Wing).
